• Question: Do you think that in the future, humans will develop photosynthesis?

      Umm, probably not. Photosynthesis involves the use of chlorophyll which only occurs in plants and not mammalian species. I guess we could use photosynthesis in the future to produce energy for cars or oxygen fuel tanks like they do to power some rockets?

      I agree with Amy, its unlikely because we as a species have evolved to eat starch and break it down into glucose and then into energy, carbon dioxide and water. Which is the opposite to photosynthesis. We would only ever get the ability to photosynthesise from a large combination of mutations due to a rapid change in survival needs. The same applies for things like growing Gills to breathe underwater 🙂
