• Question: If you edit the DNA in a cell that is fully formed will it have any effect on that particular cell

      Hi,
      Too much UV radiation from the sun or sunbeds can damage DNA cells. If enough DNA damage builds up over time, it can cause cells to start growing out of control, which can lead to skin cancer. So yes it can have an impact.

    Thanks, sorry i didn’t really make myself clear, i was referring to the cell in which the DNA mutation had been caused, prior to it undergoing mitosis would the mutations in the DNA have an effect.
