• Question: What do you think the likelihood of there being habitable planets/intelligent life in our galaxy and in the wider universe?

      I think we can’t exclude the possibility that there are other life forms elsewhere in the Solar System. I would be astonished if there were no other life forms elsewhere in the Galaxy (which has about 100 billion other stars than our Sun), and even more so in the wider Universe (which has plenty of other galaxies other than our Milky Way). If there are other habitable planets, there are likely too far away for us. And if there are other intelligent life forms elsewhere, we can imagine that one day we will be able to communicate with them at a distance, although any decent conversation will probably take place over tens of years as signals will need time to travel back and forth!
